Where PI is commonly considered
PI is often evaluated for high-temperature insulation, vacuum-related parts, semiconductor processing equipment, aerospace components, wear parts and precision assemblies where thermal stability is important. The application should be assessed for temperature profile, sliding contact, media exposure, electrical requirements and dimensional tolerance.

What to include with a PI inquiry
Share the preferred form, dimensions or drawing, quantity, application, operating temperature, contact media, load and tolerance requirements. For a replacement part, the failure mode and current material are particularly useful.

PI material selection notes
PI is intended for demanding applications, but PBI, PEEK, PEI or PPS may be more practical when the complete operating conditions, processing route and cost target are considered. Selecting by material name alone can lead to unnecessary sampling and redesign.
